Medical code Trainer

DESGINATION: Medical Coding Trainer

LOCATION: Guindy Chennai

MOOD OF WORK: On Site

Responsibilities:

Develop and update training materials, presentations, and resources related to medical coding practices, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS code sets.

Deliver engaging and informative training sessions to individuals or groups, both in-person and virtually.

Provide hands-on instruction to help learners understand the process of assigning accurate codes for medical procedures, diagnoses, and services.

Create and administer assessments to evaluate trainees comprehension and proficiency in medical coding.

Offer constructive feedback and guidance to trainees to help them improve their coding accuracy and efficiency.

Keep abreast of updates and changes in medical coding guidelines, regulations, and industry trends.

Collaborate with curriculum development teams to ensure training content aligns with current industry standards.

Provide one-on-one coaching and support to trainees who require additional assistance.

Assist in job placement efforts by sharing insights about the medical coding job market and interview preparation techniques.

Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and trainee progress.

Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages active participation and learning retention.

Support trainees in building the skills necessary for successful careers in medical coding.

Qualifications:

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential or equivalent medical coding certification.

Minimum of 3+ years of experience working as a medical coder in a clinical or healthcare setting.

Proven experience in delivering training sessions or workshops, preferably in a healthcare or educational context.

Strong understanding of medical coding guidelines, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS code sets.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

Patient, approachable, and able to adapt teaching techniques to various learning styles.

Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage training schedules, materials, and assessments.

Continuous learning mindset with a commitment to staying updated on coding industry changes.

Experience in curriculum development and instructional design is a plus.

Education:

Bachelor's or Masters's degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or a related field experience is preferred.

Exp: 5+ years of relevant industry exp or teaching experience in the same field
