Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our team at FLY Consulting Services. As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to patient records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. This is a full-time position based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
Qualifications And Skills
- Junior-level position with 1 to 3 years of experience in medical coding
- Certification in CPC (Certified Professional Coder) preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS)
- Familiarity with Evaluation and Management coding guidelines
- Experience with CPT Codes, CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), and medical coding software
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Roles And Responsibilities
- Review and analyze patient medical records
- Assign accurate and appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services
- Ensure coding compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations
- Stay updated and knowledgeable about current coding practices and changes in the healthcare industry
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and obtain necessary information
- Resolve any coding discrepancies or issues
- Follow up on denied claims and assist with the appeals process
- Maintain patient confidentiality and information security
- Keep accurate records of coding activities
