Job Description

  • As a part of the Medical Affairs team at Azurity, the Senior Specialist will support the execution of all Medical Affairs initiatives, including day-to-day oversight of Medical Information, being responsible for providing all required medical information to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients upon request
  • The Senior Specialist will also manage Azurity s Medical Information vendor, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate medical information to HCPs
  • Additionally, he/she will lead the development of monthly Medical Information summary reports to be presented to Azurity s leadership team
  • The Medical Affairs Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Medical Affairs and will work closely with other Azurity teams including but not limited to Commercial, Business Development, Clinical, Regulatory, Technical Operations, Legal, and Financ
Responsibilities
  • Respond to inquiries from healthcare professionals and patients regarding product information, clinical studies, and treatment guidelines
  • Serve as team lead overseeing day-to-day Medical Information call center and as internal point-of-contact for medical information and scientific inquiries from HCPs, payer groups, formulary decision-makers, KOLs, advocacy groups, medical societies and internal stakeholders
  • Create and update educational materials for HCPs and patients across Azurity s product portfolio
  • Lead the development of monthly Medical Information summary reports to be presented to Azurity s executive leadership team
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and guidelines related to Medical Information and drug promotion
  • Utilize professional and clinical judgement to critically evaluate the scientific accuracy of manuscripts/publications, clinical studies, and outcomes research on Azurity and competitor medications
  • Educate/train/present key scientific medication and disease state information to internal (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Managed Care) and external stakeholders (e.g. health care professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), advocacy groups, payers) for Azurity products
  • Develop and update ISI, FAQs and SRLs for pre-launch and post-launch products across Azurity s extensive portfolio
  • Assist in budget management including tracking of invoices, SOWs, MSAs, consulting agreements, etc.
  • Assist with support of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) staff and other Medical Affairs ongoing initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral-level qualification (PharmD, PhD, MD) preferred, Master s in a related field and 2+ years relevant experience may substitute. Thorough understanding of the science and medical standards of care are essential
  • 2+ years pharmaceutical or bio-tech industry experience
  • Ability to communicate highly scientific and technical medical information
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to medical information and drug promotion
  • Excellent communication / interpersonal skills / passion for excellence
  • Strong writing skills with demonstrated medical communications experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Effective administrative / organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborative with internal teams (globally) fostering a culture of efficiency and teamwork
  • Adept at handling multiple projects and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills, including proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint (or equivalent)
  • Understanding of drug discovery / development and regulatory approval processes
