Job Description
The Mechanical Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the Mechanical Engineering team including responsibility for managing the Mechanical Engineering team and coordination of all Mechanical Engineering design activities and responsibilities.
This position will be responsible for leading the critical review of mechanical design work undertaken.
Manage the OES Mechanical Engineering team ensuring compliance with Company's policies, procedures, processes, and quality accreditations.
Effectively coordinate Mechanical resources to ensure designs are completed according to agreed schedule and meet clients specifications and requirements.
Ensure the Mechanical Engineering team maintains an effective working relationship with other disciplines and the Osmoflo Proposals and Projects teams.
Allocate Mechanical resources in consultation with the Engineering Manager,Pune.
Manage the performance of the team including completing staff performance reviews according to Company's Performance and Development framework.
Manage the training and development needs of the Mechanical team
Manage the detailed Mechanical design and drafting of the allocated projects.
Develop optimised design processes including documentation.
Coordinate, attend and participate in internal and external (customer) project meetings and vendor meetings.
Ensure Mechanical design and drafting processes are undertaken efficiently and according to agreed budgets, specifications and schedule
Job Requirement
Experience/ Knowledge:
More than 18 years'experience in detailed mechanical engineering design of water and/or wastewater equipment.
More than 8 years experience in a Management position including responsibility for direct reports.
Strong understanding of technical standards for systems and components including, but not limited to
- ASME
- ANSI
- API
- Australian Standards
Knowledgeable in static and rotating equipment designs and selection criteria for the following;
Rotating equipment like low pressure and high-pressure pumps, energy recovery devices.
Previous experience in design coordination and management.
Strong understanding of RO and UF membrane technologies. Etc.
Knowledge of various piping standards, classes and materials for various applications is essential.
Knowledge of Pressure vessels as per ASME section VIII will be considered as an added advantage
Skills/ Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and willingness to work collaboratively with people from a diversity of backgrounds.
Understanding of other Engineering disciplines, Process, Electrical & Instrumentation, Civil.
Strong understanding of water chemistry.
Ability to have clear English language verbal discussion over telephone and other communication media.
Previous experience working with AutoCad or similar 3D Design software to prepare detailed designs.
Working knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems.
Willingness to travel to international locations on an ad-hoc/as required basis.
Well-developed understanding of economic principles such as balance between Capex and Opex, to achieve an optimised design that meets the customer's needs and Company's business strategies.
Well-developed understanding of how commercial and contractual matters impact technical designs (including warranty and
operations liabilities)
