Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our MEP consultancy team, specializing in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of HVAC concept plans, detailed designs, heat load calculations, preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and coordination of Good for Construction (GFC) drawings. The role demands a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
HVAC Conceptual Design:
Develop HVAC concept plans in alignment with project requirements, architectural layouts, and client specifications.
Integrate sustainability considerations into HVAC design, ensuring energy efficiency and environmental compliance.
Heat Load Calculations:
Perform accurate heat load calculations for various building types using industry-standard software and methodologies.
Optimize HVAC system sizing and selection based on calculated load requirements.
Detailed Design:
Prepare detailed HVAC system designs, including ductwork layouts, equipment selection, and piping schematics.
Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and regulations, as well as project-specific requirements.
BOQ Preparation:
Develop comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for HVAC systems, including material specifications, equipment lists, and cost estimates.
Collaborate with procurement and cost estimation teams to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness of BOQs.
GFC Coordination:
Prepare and review Good for Construction (GFC) drawings, ensuring they reflect the final design and meet project requirements.
Coordinate with architects, electrical, and plumbing teams to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems.
Project Management & Coordination:
Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of HVAC designs and documentation.
Attend client meetings, site visits, and construction inspections to provide technical support and ensure compliance with design intent.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough quality checks on HVAC designs, calculations, and drawings to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
Implement feedback and revisions as needed to meet client expectations and project goals.
