The Math Teacher is responsible for teaching mathematics to primary grade students, ensuring they develop strong foundational skills in numeracy, problem-solving, and logical thinking. The teacher will design engaging lessons, assess student progress, and create a supportive learning environment.
Lesson Planning and Delivery:- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and cater to the needs of diverse learners.
Teach core mathematical concepts such as arithmetic, geometry, measurement, and data handling.- Use hands-on activities, visual aids, and interactive methods to make math engaging and understandable.
Assessment and Evaluation:- Monitor and assess students understanding and proficiency through assignments, quizzes, and exams.
Provide regular feedback to students and parents on academic performance.- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
Classroom Management:- Create a safe, orderly, and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Encourage positive student behavior and implement effective classroom management strategies.- Address any behavioral issues promptly and constructively.
Student Engagement:- Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage students and encourage a love for mathematics.
Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students.- Identify and support students who need additional help or those who show advanced abilities.
Professional Development:- Stay updated with the latest educational methods, curriculum changes, and mathematical teaching tools.
Participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops, seminars, and training sessions.- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies.
Communication and Collaboration:- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding student progress and concerns.
Work closely with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.- Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and extracurricular activities.
Additional Duties:- Prepare students for standardized tests and school assessments.
Organize and participate in math-related activities, such as math clubs, competitions, or math fairs.- Perform any other duties assigned by the school administration.
- Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.- Teaching certification or licensure in primary education.
Proven experience teaching mathematics at the primary level.
- Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and teaching methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Proficiency in using educational technology and math-related tools.
Full-time position.
