Job Description
Material development and testing, quality control, characterisation, metallic working and indigenous realisation of materials for launch vehicles.
Skills/Requirements
- Basic knowledge of aerospace materials. Experience in one or more manufacturing methods: welding, additive manufacturing, casting, forging etc.
- Familiarity with standard testing methods and development of design allowables for materials.
- Experience in characterization techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy and metallographic analysis.
- Experience in failure analysis and fractography.
- Strong engineering judgment and capability to learn new concepts quickly.
- Capability to physically understand the problems and offer quick solutions on a system level.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up environment.
- Interaction with multiple teams to ensure the design meets all requirements.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Minimum Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech or equivalent in Metallurgy / Material Science or equivalent and Masters in Materials Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a materials engineering role.
