Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Marketplace Lead to drive the growth and success of our marketplace. In this role, you will lead efforts to optimize the supply-demand ecosystem, ensure high-quality engagements between brands and creators, and grow revenue and order volume. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams and oversee a team to manage end-to-end marketplace dynamics. This position is critical in scaling our marketplace presence in India, with a long-term goal to expand globally.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketplace Growth and Optimization
- Develop strategies to enhance creator discovery, ensuring that brands can access a wide selection of creators for every campaign need.
- Build and refine pricing structures that drive brand and creator value.
- Implement initiatives that increase order volume and encourage higher brand spend on the marketplace.
- Design a communication framework similar to platforms like Airbnb to enable direct interaction between brands and creators for efficient and accurate campaign execution.
Supply and Demand Management
- Lead creator onboarding and community engagement strategies to attract a diverse range of creators across various categories.
- Develop a sustainable pricing strategy that offers brands value while maximizing returns for creators.
- Oversee delivery automation processes, enabling seamless brand-creator transactions and ensuring timely and accurate project completion.
- Utilize data-driven insights to monitor and manage the supply-demand balance, ensuring creators and brands can easily connect based on campaign needs.
Performance Metrics and KPIs
- Track key metrics, such as monthly order volume, revenue growth, and profit margins, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Monitor creator retention rates, onboarding metrics, and the adoption rate of marketplace features among brands and creators.
- Implement and refine delivery KPIs that ensure timely and high-quality project completion, thus enhancing brand satisfaction and repeat business.
- Use data analysis to pinpoint areas of improvement in marketplace operations and to predict trends that can help shape future strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with tech and product teams to build features that optimize marketplace functionality and improve the user experience.
- Work closely with the marketing and growth teams to align marketplace initiatives with broader company goals, ensuring cohesive brand positioning and outreach.
- Coordinate with finance and operations to ensure that all financial, legal, and operational standards are met for smooth marketplace transactions.
- Regularly update stakeholders on marketplace performance and collaborate to adapt strategies as needed.
Market Expansion and Strategy Development
- Focus on scaling the marketplace in India over the next 12 months..
- Continuously analyze market conditions and competitor offerings, adjusting our marketplace strategy to maintain a competitive edge.
- Develop a roadmap for marketplace globalization, outlining key milestones, and strategic initiatives to achieve expansion goals.
Requirement:
- Experience: 4-5 years in marketplace management, e-commerce, or related roles
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a top-tier institution; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, BI tools, and data analytics, with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and optimize marketplace functions.
- Marketplace Expertise: Strong understanding of marketplace supply-demand mechanics, pricing strategies, and experience in managing complex customer relationships.
- Data-Driven Approach: Ability to utilize data and analytics to gain insights into marketplace trends, consumer behavior, and areas for optimization.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and engage with external stakeholders effectively.
- Leadership: Experience managing teams of 5-7, with the ability to guide and inspire team members to achieve collective goals. Experience working cross-functionally with tech, marketing, and product teams to drive marketplace growth.
