Job description:Ensure safe operations of the vessels & compliance to all international marine requirements. Assist in the implementation & upkeep of the SMS. Manage Inspections. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Superintendent to oversee the operations of LNG vessels. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of LNG operations, including cargo handling, navigation, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance. As a Marine Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our LNG vessels, managing vessel inspections, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to vessel crews, monitor performance, and coordinate with shore-based teams to optimize vessel operations. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of LNG vessels.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
- Conduct vessel inspections and audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and support to vessel crews, promoting a culture of safety and professionalism.
- Monitor vessel performance and efficiency, implementing measures to optimize operations.
- Coordinate with shore-based teams, including engineering, logistics, and commercial departments, to ensure seamless operations.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, implementing contingency plans and coordinating with relevant authorities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to vessel operations and regulatory compliance.
- Keep abreast of industry developments, regulations, and best practices, recommending updates to procedures and protocols as necessary.
Required Candidate profile:- Must have sailed as Master on LNG (liquefied natural gas) tankers.
- Conduct regular ship inspections to ensure compliance to the statutory requirements of ISM & ISPS codes. responsible for conducting pre-vetting inspection on board the ship & follow-up.Master Mariner preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in marine operations, with specific experience in LNG vessels.
- Strong understanding of LNG operations, including cargo handling, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel as needed
