We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Manual Test Engineer to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining manual test cases to ensure the quality and functionality of our software applications. The Manual Test Engineer will work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to identify issues and improve the overall user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Design:
- Analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to create comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Identify test scenarios and create detailed test cases covering all aspects of the software application.
Test Execution:
- Execute manual test cases on various software applications to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
- Identify, record, document, and track defects in defect tracking tools.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other team members to understand features and functionalities.
- Participate in regular meetings and provide feedback on project progress and quality issues.
- Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to stakeholders.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed and accurate test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
- Prepare test summary reports and provide input for release notes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Suggest and implement improvements in test processes and methodologies.
- Stay updated with new testing tools and test strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience in manual software testing.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
- Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and scripting is a plus.
