Our organisation is seeking a Manual QA Engineer who is knowledgeable in writing and executing test cases to verify the functionality of software. You will need a high level of understanding of software development and know different ways to test components in a range of scenarios. You will be highly analytical and have exceptional attention to detail, as well as strong communication skills.
Job responsibilities:-
- Work in a team with your colleagues.
- Design and execute test plans for individual pieces of software and systems.
- Ensure functionality of applications and they match the specifications.
- Monitor logs for output to ensure confidential credentials are not outputting to them.
- Identify and report bugs for developers to fix.
- Assist developers recreate bugs.
- Provide suggestions to enhance different systems or software.
- Maintain up-to-date the test cases after some requirement changes were required
- Plan and coordinate all cycles of testing, including functional-level system tests business scenario-based testing, to ensure proper test coverage while mitigating redundancy where possible
- Facilitate the efficient resolution of issues, by providing initial triage for issue disposition
- Specification analysis
- Participate in daily scrums features planning discussions
- Be responsible for the whole software testing lifecycle (analyzing the business requirements, support in preparing the test plans, creating the test cases, monitoring bugs, checking bug fixes)
Requirements:-
- High level of knowledge of different forms of testing such as white box and smoke tests.
- Strong analytical mind.
- The ability to problem-solve.
- Ability to adapt techniques based on requirements.
- Knowledge of any Test Management Tool like Winrunner, load runner or QTP
- A basic understanding of web technologies (such as .NET, HTML )
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, SOX, HIPAA
- Have a solid grasp of core security fundamentals and concepts, including knowing one's system, defense in depth, the principle of least privilege, access control, encryption and cryptography, security architecture and design, business continuity and disaster recovery
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience with enterprise-level security control implementations, including Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention (NIDS/NIPS), Corporate Antivirus, Enterprise Web Filtering, Data Loss Prevention, Insider-threat Mitigation, Botnet Detection, , demonstrable knowledge of the principles and techniques used to bypass said controls
Desired skills for manual tester include:
Jira, Linus commands, Database concepts & SQL queries, testing methodologies, Quality centre, Spira, XML, SQL, Test Management & defect tracking tools, electronic theory
