Job Description
This is a Data Engineering/Big Data specialist position with Firm Risk Technology group based out of Bangalore India. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, hands-on and delivery focused Data Engineering developer with strong Data analytics skills and experience on various Big Data Technologies/MPP database.
You will be expected to work closely with our business users/Source system owners for projects. The development will be performed using an Agile methodology which is based on scrum (time boxing, daily scrum meetings, retrospectives, etc.) and XP (continuous integration, refactoring, unit testing, etc.) best practices. Candidates must therefore be able to work collaboratively, demonstrate good ownership and be able to work well in teams. Candidate needs to keep abreast of new technologies and architect patterns to define and implement state of art systems. The role also demands ability to successfully work with global teams in US, Europe and India.
Responsibilities
- You are in love with Data, Databases, and have your ears to the ground on emerging data technology trends.
- Development and support of Data Ingestion Framework (using ETL like Spark, Informatica, Unix Shell Scripting, Python Scripting etc.)
- Data Modelling/Physical Data Design
- Performance Tuning/Optimization
Skills /Experience
- 6-8 Years of working experience on Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Big Data projects
- Very good understanding on Data Modelling and Methodologies (Enterprise Transactional Data Model (OLTP) and Dimensional modelling. Well versed with principles, techniques, and best practices of data modelling).
- Strong Skills in Relational & MPP Databases including database design, writing complex queries and stored procedures, performance tuning.
- Excellent skills in Big Data technologies (SPARK), Python/Unix scripting
- Experience in integration of various data sources like DB2, Green Plum, SQL Server, MemSQL, and Flat Files
- Advanced proficiency with SQL for generation and extraction of data for use in data analysis, transform and reporting.
- Experience in closely working with application teams and managing all the DB related activities such as DB modelling, design, development, maintenance, and support.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and leadership skill
Good To Have Skills
- Experience working in any BI tool, preferably Microsoft SSAS/Power BI.
- Programming skills like Core Java, Microsoft .Net
- Financial Services experience will be a strong plus
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field
