Job Summary:
The GM/Manager of Sales for an in-flight magazine is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to maximize advertising revenue. This role involves individual contribution, building relationships with advertisers, and ensuring the magazine's financial growth. The GM/Manager of Sales will work closely with other departments to align sales efforts with the overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop plans to capture them.
- Analyze market trends and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key advertisers and partners.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored advertising solutions.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to maximize revenue.
- Work closely with the editorial, marketing, and production teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business goals.
- Implement cost-effective sales practices to improve profitability.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities
- Identify and analyze target markets and advertising opportunities.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client concerns promptly and effectively.
- Develop and maintain a customer-focused approach within the sales team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
- Proven experience as a General Manager/Manager of Sales or in a similar senior sales role, preferably in the publishing industry.
- Strong understanding of sales strategies and techniques.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed business decisions.
- Knowledge of the aviation industry and in-flight media market is a plus.
