Develop, implement quality and safety standards for Cargo operations at NMIA Cargo Terminal and allied services.
Ensure Cargo Terminal Safety standards are maintained at all business areas like international, domestic and express and follow the safety norms across all processes including equipment usage
Develop, implement and maintain organizational Quality and Safety norms at NMIA for Cargo Terminal and allied services.
Maintain and enhance Cargo Service Quality Indices and parameters at all specified operational area
Ensure safe and secure cargo storage and transportation across the processes. Ensure special cargo like DGR, PER, AVI, PIL, HUM, VAL, VUN, etc. are stored at safe and designated locations complying to the safety norms
Ensure cargo terminal and cargo stored in possession with cargo terminal is secured from Fire Hazard. Ensure cargo terminal and cargo stored / in possession with station cargo terminal is insured for any damages occurring due to any reason
Ensure safe environment at workplace is maintained as per safety norms. Ensure zero personnel / equipment accident is reported. Ensure safety of all customers and stakeholders is maintained in the entire air cargo complex.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address quality and safety concerns
Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
Maintaining air cargo infrastructure under safety parameters defined by IATA, DGCA, AAI, MOCA, etc.
Develop and conduct scheduled training programs to enhance cargo handling best practices
Keep all stakeholders informed about the safety standards and its compliance at the cargo terminal.
Ensure zero downtime of IT and Security services at the handled premises
Standardizing Quality & Safety processes at Cargo Terminal and AFS
Document Custodianship to be maintain by creating, maintaining and upkeep of all documents
Designing and maintaining quality initiatives across the organization by building quality circles, Kaizen schemes, etc.
Prepare the budget and maintain cost control mechanism
Ensure all external audit compliances are met to the desired levels with no observations and findings
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in management, aviation, engineering, or related field
Master's degree in aviation safety or quality management (preferred)
Quality Management certification (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9001)
Aviation Safety certification (e.g. IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations)
Minimum 10 Years experience in Air Cargo business of Airport or Airline within Quality department
Demonstrated expertise in cargo quality control and safety management.
Proven track record of implementing quality assurance processes
