Job Description

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, supplies, and services essential for the manufacturing of crucibles. This role requires strategic sourcing, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage supplier relationships to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials at competitive prices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Procurement Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
    • Forecast procurement needs based on production schedules and market trends.
    • Analyze market conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  2. Supplier Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess stock.
    • Implement effective inventory control systems and practices.
    • Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to manage stock levels.
  4. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all purchased materials meet required quality standards and specifications.
    • Collaborate with the quality control team to address any issues with supplied materials.
    • Conduct regular supplier audits to maintain quality assurance.
  5. Cost Management:
    • Develop and manage the procurement budget.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce procurement costs.
    • Monitor and report on procurement expenditures and savings.
  6. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
    • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities.
  7. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor the procurement team to achieve departmental goals.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering supported with A master s degree or relevant certification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
