As a Mechanical Commissioning & Desk Operation Engineer, you will play a critical role in the commissioning and desk operation of a supercritical coal thermal power plant. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the mechanical systems and equipment during the commissioning phase and providing support for the operational activities of the power plant. Your expertise in mechanical engineering principles, plant commissioning, and desk operation will be essential for the successful operation of the power plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Commissioning:
- Able to lead commissioning activities such as Chemical Cleaning, Steam blowing, Safety valve floating, CAVT, Mill air flow test, ESP GD Test, Coal Mill Operation, SCR Operation etc.
- Experience in ESP
- Assist in the planning and execution of commissioning activities related to mechanical systems and equipment.
- Conduct pre-commissioning checks, inspections, and tests to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with other commissioning team member to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that arise during the commissioning process.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of commissioning activities.
Desk Operation:
- Cold Startup, Warm Startup & Hot Start up experience of Supercritical Units (Preferred experience in MHI Boiler design)
- Emergency Handling Operation
- PG test & Trial operation completion
- Monitor the performance of mechanical systems and equipment from the control room.
- Analyse operational data to identify deviations and abnormalities.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions or abnormalities and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Coordinate with erection teams or agency to schedule and carry out preventive maintenance activities.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Collaborate with the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) department to implement safety initiatives and procedures.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, equipment inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare daily reports on LDO, Coal, DM Water & chemical consumption.
- Assist in the preparation of Commissioning procedures, standard operating manuals, and work instructions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in commissioning and operation of supercritical coal thermal power plants (Preferred experience in MHI Boilers).
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and processes in a power plant setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with control room operations and monitoring systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and equipment manuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental regulations.
