Identifying the organisations needs
Breaking large system requirements down into manageable parts
Researching off- the- shelf products to decide whether they would be more suitable than building a new system from scratch or to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements.
Working out which IT products to use based on cost benefit analysis and research
Agreeing plans for the system s structure with the Stake Holders.
Producing detailed workings, drawings and specifications.
Explaining the structure to the designers and developers, and helping them to build it
Give input as needed to issues like tool and environment selection
Developing and carrying out acceptance testing procedures to make sure systems are working properly
Makes sure the software and system architectures are in synchronization
Making sure that systems meet quality standards and procedures
Advising the Team about how to plan their future IT needs.
