Wadhwani Foundations Liftoff Program is seeking an experienced Investor Relations Manager to facilitate early-stage funding for innovative startups in India
The successful candidate will be instrumental in connecting Liftoff Program participants with funding opportunities, leveraging their extensive network and deep understanding of the investment domain
With at least 10 years of experience, including a minimum of 4 years dedicated to startup fundraising, the ideal applicant will have a proven ability to navigate the Indian startup funding landscape effectively
Key Responsibilities:
Investor Network Cultivation: Forge and nurture strategic partnerships with angel networks, early-stage VCs, and institutional investors to support funding initiatives for Liftoff startups.
Funding Strategy Development: Design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies that align with the Liftoff Programs objectives and startup needs.
Startup Funding Preparedness: Guide startups through the fundraising process, including pitch refinement, due diligence preparation, and investment negotiations.
Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of evolving market trends and investment criteria to inform and adjust fundraising strategies accordingly.
Fundraising Support and Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between startups and potential investors, coordinating interactions and facilitating discussions.
Reporting and Metrics: Monitor and report on fundraising efforts, outcomes, and investor feedback to continuously improve program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: A Masterdegree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field from a reputed institution.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 4 years in a role centered around securing funding for startups, preferably within the Indian ecosystem.
Track Record: Demonstrable success in closing early-stage investment deals, with a thorough understanding of investment vehicles and structures.
Networking Process: A robust network of contacts within the startup investment community, including angel investors, VCs, and industry influencers.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, coupled with strong negotiation skills.
Ecosystem Insight: Deep knowledge of the startup ecosystem, particularly in relation to investment trends, funding cycles, and investor expectations.
Adaptability: Agile and adaptable to the dynamic nature of startup development and investment
