Role Description
Responsibilities
- Working with the U.S. business valuation teams (on both audit and external valuation projects) engaged in the valuation of business enterprises and intangible assets for regulatory, financial and tax purposes
- Manage intangible business valuation engagements in collaboration with the U.S. senior managers and PPMDs
- Communication with U.S. engagement teams (including valuation and audit) and external clients
- Mentor and supervise engagement teams at GT INDUS
- Maintain and develop positive, productive, and professional relationships with GT offices across the U.S.
- Identify issues and propose strategies related to process improvement
- Demonstrate teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members
- Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided
- Identify business development opportunities and assist PPMDs and directors / senior managers on proposals and new business opportunities
- Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to our as well as the client's business
- Assisting internal clients on client development and practice development assignments
Skills
- Experience in broad-based business and financial valuations and multi-discipline appraisals, including those of closely held companies
- Technical expertise in business enterprise and intangible asset valuation products such as ASC 350, ASC 805 and ASC 820
- Excellent thoughtfulness, project management, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
- Advanced knowledge and experience in any of the following sectors will be added advantage - financial services, oil & gas, technology, consumer products, power and utilities and life science
- Strong leadership, recruiting, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written (including technical writing), and presentation skills
- Willingness and ability to travel, when required
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- A post graduate degree in finance, economics, accounting (CA) or business administration with 8-10 years of related work experience
- A minimum of 5+ years direct experience in utilizing valuation techniques and methodologies such as Purchase Price Allocations (PPA), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Market Comparables, etc. in a business valuation firm or practice or in venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking, financial research, national valuation firm or experience working in a corporate finance role for an organization, preferably for M&A activities
- Certification/license such as CPA or CFA, and valuation credentials such as CVA, ABV, AVA or ASA preferred
Accounting, finance, and economics knowledge; proficiency in US GAAP preferred
- Exposure to databases such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, etc.
