Team Description

The Education and Skill Development practice of KPMG in India comprise a team of experience professional who deliver forward-looking advisory services across the spectrum such as K-12 education including early childhood care and education (ECCE), foundation literacy and numeracy skills, technical and vocational education, and training (TVET), higher education, education technology and supplementary education. The team has delivered multiple engagement in the past catering to a wide range of clients from the central and state governments, regulators, public and private educational institutions, corporates, not for profit organizations etc. The team has worked on the ground across Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa apart from India.

Job Summary KPMG is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager specializing in Innovative Finance within the Education Sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and implementing financial strategies that drive educational projects and initiatives. This role involves working closely with senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders to develop innovative financing solutions that enhance educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

• Innovative Financing Solutions: Develop and implement innovative financing strategies for educational projects, including social impact bonds, public-private partnerships, crowdfunding, green bonds, blended finance instruments and other alternative funding mechanisms.
• Project Management: Lead and manage education sector finance projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
• Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis on emerging trends in education financing, identifying opportunities for innovative financial solutions.
• Client Engagement: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored financial solutions that address their challenges in the education sector.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, investors, and non-profit organizations, to promote and implement innovative finance initiatives.
• Policy Development: Advise on and contribute to the development of policies that support innovative financing in education, working with government bodies and regulatory agencies.
• Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the education sector, preparing proposals and presentations to potential clients.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strategic insight.

Qualifications :

• Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Education, Public Policy, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA with a focus on finance or education is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in innovative finance, with a specific focus on the education sector.

Skills:

• Strong expertise in innovative financing mechanisms such as social impact bonds, green bonds, public-private partnerships, and other alternative funding models.
• Deep understanding of the education sector, including its funding challenges and opportunities.
• Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to translate findings into actionable strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Business development skills with a track record of identifying and securing new opportunities.

Travel: Willingness to travel as required for client engagements and project delivery.
