The Opportunity:
As the BI Manager and Technical Lead, you will be responsible for managing a group of BI professionals and data engineers. You will generate valuable insights through data analysis, visualization, and reporting based on business requirements following a design first approach. This is a role that requires a strong combination of technical and leadership skills.
What You'll Do:
Technical Leadership and Data Engineering
- Play a key role in both technical and leadership aspects of the BI function.
- Oversee a team of BI and data engineers in the Bangalore Office.
- Balance hands-on work with management responsibilities, ensuring that the team is effectively delivering full lifecycle of BI & Data offerings including:
- Structured data models typically in Snowflake
- Semi-structured data models on AWS FSx and AWS S3
- Data pipelines & ETL processes via SQL, Informatica, Python
- Data APIs in Python Flask containers in AWS, GCP
- Leverage AI for analytics and accelerate of development
- Data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau.
- Execute automated deployment processes on Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Collaboration with other BI leaders on data strategies and vendor management
Business Requirement Analysis & Technical Specification:
- Assist business analysts with collecting stakeholders requirements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Work closely with the team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of BI and data solutions based on technical specifications.
Training & Mentorship:
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to the BI and data engineering team members.
- Demonstrate best practice by on-hands execution of projects along with staff.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration among team members.
What You'll Bring:
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in business intelligence and data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (Manager, Lead, etc.).
- Proven track record of successfully managing BI projects and delivering valuable insights through data analysis and visualization.
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and tools, including IICS (Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services) batch and real-time integrations, Python, and SQL.
- Experience leverage data-as-a-service offerings in cloud environments including at least one AI-enabled project.
- Experience estimating and managing vendor costs.
- Knowledge of both SQL and Non-SQL platforms.
- Experience with Tableau or similar for data visualization and dashboard creation.
- Familiarity with automated deployment processes using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
Leadership & Communication:
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and mentor a team of BI professionals and data engineers.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in translating business requirements into technical specifications
- Experience managing delivery deadlines within a Sprint development approach.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, engineering or a related field
- Relevant certifications in BI, AI, data engineering, or data visualization tools are highly desirable.
The Location:
This role will be based out of The Leela Officelocated on the 4th Floor, Airport Road, Kodihalli, Bangalore- 560008. Our expectation at this time, is that you would work HYBRID work from our office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays with flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.
