About NSRCEL

NSRCEL is the startup hub and incubation centre of IIM Bangalore. Our mission is to support and scale ventures that demonstrate innovation, impact, and execution across a wide range of industries. NSRCEL connects industry, academia, and policy to foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. In FY 23-24 alone, NSRCEL incubated 1,347 ventures from 25 states, creating significant economic and societal impact.

About The Team

Fundraising is one of the core functions of NSRCEL. Our vision at NSRCEL is to deliver nation-scale impact and be recognized as a leader in incubation and entrepreneurial learning. Being a not-for-profit organization, we are continuously looking for funds to achieve our vision and expand to building ecosystems for underserved areas of innovation. The function also continuously engages with current donors and partners which are a mix of government departments, corporates, individuals and foundations.

About The Role

As the Fundraising & Partnerships Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial sustainability and growth of NSRCEL by building strong partnerships, securing funding, and driving innovative fundraising initiatives. You will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic roadmap to support both existing and new partnerships, focusing on scaling NSRCEL's mission of creating nationwide impact in entrepreneurship. Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Fundraising Lead to design and implement a comprehensive fundraising and partnership strategy aimed at building long-term, sustainable funding sources.
  • Donor & Partner Engagement: Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders including corporate donors, foundations, government bodies, and individual philanthropists. Ensure continuous engagement through updates,meetings, and personalized touchpoints.
  • Proposal Writing & Grant Applications: Lead the development of high-quality proposals, grant applications, and sponsorship pitches. Research funding opportunities from a variety of sectors, including corporates, government, and international foundations.
  • Financial Tracking & Reporting: Oversee the tracking of fundraising efforts, maintaining detailed records of donations, grants, and sponsorships using CRM tools. Ensure transparency and compliance in all fundraising activities.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with the marketing, finance, and incubation teams to integrate fundraising strategies into broader organizational objectives.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Prepare reports, newsletters, and updates to communicate the impact of donations and partnerships, ensuring stakeholders are engaged with NSRCEL's progress and successes.
  • Innovation in Fundraising: Identify emerging trends in fundraising, including digital giving platforms, corporate CSR, and social impact bonds, to bring innovative approaches to NSRCEL's fundraising strategy.

Requirements

  • Experience: 4-6 years of proven experience in fundraising, partnerships, or business development roles, preferably in the non-profit, social impact, or startup sectors.
  • Prior Knowledge: about entrepreneurship and incubation space in India, managing partner relationships at organisations like DST, MeitY, Startup India, CSRs, Foundations, and others is an added advantage
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's/Master's degree in business, non-profit management, marketing, communications, or a related field.3
  • Fundraising Expertise: Demonstrated success in securing large-scale funding from corporates, foundations, or government sources, with the ability to cultivate and maintain high-value donor relationships.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to design and execute strategic fundraising plans with measurable outcomes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience in proposal writing, storytelling, and pitching to diverse stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong networking abilities and the capability to build lasting partnerships across a wide range of sectors.
