Job Title: Finance Manager - Financial Reporting and Accounting

Location: Gurugram, India

Reports To: Director of Finance / Controller

Department: Financial Reporting & Accounting

Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our Financial Reporting and Accounting team. This position will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting accurate and timely financial statement preparation. The Finance Manager will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, providing insights into financial performance, and ensuring adherence to internal controls. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and delivery of timely, accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, etc.) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Ensure compliance with all accounting policies and regulations.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded, reconciled, and reported accurately. Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all necessary information is available for close.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing actionable insights to senior management regarding financial performance, trends, and variances. Develop and present key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to drive decision-making.
  • Accounting Operations: Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and fixed assets. Ensure that all accounting records are accurate and complete.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards. Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes to reduce risks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Audit Coordination: Lead the coordination of external and internal audits. Prepare and provide documentation and reports for auditors. Work with auditors to ensure timely resolution of audit queries and ensure all audit findings are addressed.
  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Provide input into strategic planning and financial forecasting to support business goals.
  • Tax Compliance: Collaborate with the tax department to ensure the company's financial reports comply with tax regulations. Support the preparation of tax returns, tax provisions, and other required filings.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve financial reporting and accounting processes, systems, and controls. Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and cost savings.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of accountants and finance staff, providing training, coaching, and development opportunities. Ensure the team meets departmental deadlines and adheres to accounting best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA, CMA, or MBA is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 57 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or finance, with at least 12 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and accounting software. Strong understanding of financial systems, ERP software, and accounting tools.
  • Accounting Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP/IFRS, and financial reporting requirements. Experience with financial statement preparation, consolidations, and intercompany transactions.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights to management.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing accounting teams. Strong decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and accounting practices.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast- paced, dynamic environment.
