Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager with expertise in Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance and financial operations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate GST filings, optimizing tax strategies, and maintaining compliance with GST laws. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of GST regulations and financial management principles.
Key Responsibilities:
GST Compliance:
Ensure accurate and timely filing of all GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C, etc.).
Monitor and manage GST payment processes, including input tax credit (ITC) reconciliation.
Stay updated on the latest GST amendments, circulars, and notifications, ensuring the business remains compliant.
Liaise with tax authorities for assessments, audits, or inquiries related to GST.
Tax Planning & Advisory:
Advise the organization on tax-saving opportunities and GST optimization strategies.
Identify and mitigate potential risks related to GST compliance.
Conduct GST impact assessments for business transactions, contracts, and projects.
Financial Operations & Reporting:
Assist in month-end and year-end financial closures, ensuring proper accounting of GST transactions.
Collaborate with the finance team to manage the overall tax accounting and reporting processes.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management on GST-related matters.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
Lead and mentor the finance team in understanding and managing GST requirements.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (sales, procurement, legal) to ensure smooth GST compliance in various operations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and government authorities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or professional qualification such as CA, CPA, or CMA preferred).
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in GST compliance, taxation, and financial management.
Strong knowledge of the Goods and Services Tax Act and related laws.
Proficiency in financial software systems (e.g., SAP, Tally, Oracle) and GST-related tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred:
Experience in managing audits and assessments with tax authorities.
