As an Manager- Finance, you will be responsible for accurately recording and managing financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger, ensuring the reconciliation of financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, generating essential financial reports, and supporting tax compliance. Proficiency in accounting software, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality are key attributes for success in this role.
Tasks
- Accurate Financial Recordkeeping : Maintain meticulous and precise records of all financial transactions within the company, including income, expenses, and other financial activities
- General Ledger Management : Manage the general ledger, ensuring it is we'll-organised and consistently updated, serving as a central repository of all financial transactions
- Financial Reconciliation : Conduct rigorous financial record reconciliation by comparing financial statements with bank records to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Financial Reporting and Analysis : Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Interpret financial information for managerial staff and recommend further courses of action to optimise financial performance
- Investment Strategy and Management : Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take to ensure sustainable growth and profitability
- Cost and Performance Analysis : Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company s actual performance compared to business plans, identifying areas for improvement and cost-reduction opportunities
- Trends and Projections Development : Develop trends and projections for the firm s finances to guide strategic planning and decision-making
- Budgeting and Departmental Coordination : Oversee the preparation of the company s budget, liaise with auditors, and correspond with various departments to ensure financial health and alignment with company plans
- Finance Department Management : Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met, ensuring efficient and effective financial management
- Tax Compliance Support and Proficiency in Accounting Software : Collaborate with accountants to ensure compliance with tax regulations, including timely preparation and maintenance of financial records. Utilise accounting software proficiently for efficient data entry and management, maintaining the accuracy and reliability of financial records
Requirements
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Commerce/Finance
- 6-8 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a fintech organisation
- Expertise in handling the Xero tool would be an added advantage
- Ability to break down complex problems, and identify use cases and solutions while working in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate a nuanced understanding of data, software engineering, and business processes, and partner effectively with those teams
- High attention to detail, ability to insist on high standards, and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills; ability to convey important messages clearly and compellingly
