Responsibilities

Roles & responsibilities

  • Training the KGS team on ESG concepts like ESG reporting frameworks e.g. GRI,TCFD,SAASB etc, Carbon Accounting (GHG Protocol), Social standards, Health and Safety standards, regulatory landscape of CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR and similar.
  • Work with KGS team and onshore leads to deliver ESG assurance and reporting advice on specific clients, working to agreed timetables, developing the scope of work and deliverables, drafting and working through work programmes, reviewing the testing and carrying out assurance work, reporting and project management
  • Ensuring delivery of engagements in line with assurance standards ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3410 or equivalent
  • Lead and coach a team of seniors from audit teams to work on ESG Assurance projects
  • Oversee the Preparation of the documentation on the assurance file in line with KPMG's quality standards and our internal KPMG Assurance Manual
  • Helping the KGS team in working on multiple client requests when working on different ESG Assurance engagements
  • Assist in drafting engagement letters for known/ current/ ongoing sustainability/ ESG Assurance work
  • Support in developing and improving the standardised Assurance work programmes
  • Identifying, researching and helping to resolve complex sustainability/ ESG assurance issues
  • Act as main point of contact by building strong relationships with onshore stakeholders
  • Work with the senior management and key onshore contacts to develop business and grow the team
  • Track key metrics related to type of work performed, quality of deliverables and feedback from onshore
  • Develop and deliver training sessions based on the themes identified from onshore feedback and quality reviews
  • Work with L&D team to identify training needs
  • Act as the Performance Manager and lead the career development of staff members

Qualifications

This role is for you if you have the below

Educational Qualifications

  • MBAs, Economist or Engineers with background in Environmental sciences, Energy studies, Climate change or related fields (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Relevant working knowledge of key frameworks such as GRI, CDP, TCFD, GRESB, SASB, SBTI, DJSI, SDGs, CSRD or certifications from GARP SCR, CFA -ESG etc.

Work Experience


  • Candidate with more than 8-9 years of experience in sustainability/ climate/ environmental related field, including experience of delivering sustainability assurance engagements for large audited entities under ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3410 with a Big 4 or equivalent firm
  • Strong understanding of industry reporting frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, TCFD and the GHG Protocol
