Job Description

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in solar PV and renewable energy civil/structural design. As a key member of the Engineering team at GTC, the role will contribute to the successful execution of solar PV projects across multiple countries. The role is based in Delhi and will report to the Head of Engineering.

Responsibilities

Structural Design
: Design and analyse module mounting structures (MMS) in accordance with European or American standards. Develop foundation designs for MMS, main control buildings, MV stations, inverter platforms, and other solar plant structures.
Site Assessment
: Conduct detailed geotechnical studies, including pull-out tests, topography surveys, hydrology, and flood assessments.
Infrastructure
: Design fencing, roads, drainage systems, and other essential infrastructure for solar power projects.
Due Diligence
: Review environmental impact assessments and ensure adherence to local regulations and standards. Possess knowledge of soil corrosivity and design considerations for high-corrosivity or coastal areas.
Technical Expertise
: Leverage experience in technical due diligence, engineering reviews, and construction design reviews. Utilize finite element software (StaadPro, ANSYS/SAP) for structural analysis and demonstrate proficiency in IS standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including project development and procurement teams. Present technical findings and project updates to senior management and other stakeholders. Foster a collaborative environment within the engineering team to achieve team goals.

Experience, skills and competencies

6-10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, preferably solar PV
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Knowledge of European codes for solar module mounting structures and infrastructure
Proficiency in finite element software (StaadPro, ANSYS/SAP)
Familiarity with IS standards

Desirable qualifications / professional certification (if applicable)
