Responsibilities
- System Design and Configuration: Designing and configuring SCADA systems specifically tailored for wind turbine operations, ensuring efficient and reliable monitoring and control of the turbines performance. This involves selecting appropriate instrumentation and electronic components for data acquisition, control, and communication.
- Integration and Commissioning: Integrating the SCADA system with the wind turbine control systems, sensors, and instrumentation. Ensuring proper installation, wiring, and commissioning of the SCADA system to enable seamless communication and data exchange between the turbines and the central control station.
- System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Performing regular maintenance and monitoring of the SCADA system to ensure its optimal performance. Diagnosing and troubleshooting any hardware or software issues that may arise and implementing appropriate solutions to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collecting real-time data from various sensors and instruments installed on the wind turbines, such as wind speed, power output, temperature, and vibration. Analyzing the collected data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies, and providing insights to improve turbine performance and reliability.
- Alarm Management: Configuring and managing alarms and alerts within the SCADA system to notify operators about critical events, faults, or abnormal conditions in the wind turbine operation. Developing protocols and procedures for effective response and resolution of alarms to ensure safety and minimize downtime.
- System Upgrades and Enhancements: Keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in SCADA technology and industry standards for wind turbine applications. Evaluating and implementing system upgrades, software patches, and new functionalities to enhance the performance, security, and reliability of the SCADA system.
