Job Summary
The eDiscovery & Data Advisory (eDDA) team are an inhouse group of data, forensic and legal experts who are responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of eDiscovery within SCB Legal (LCS). We provide a global support model to SCB from our core hubs in the UK, Singapore, and China. Our vision is to bring together the right people, process, and technology to provide an industry leading eDiscovery and Data Advisory service to our Investigation and Legal colleagues.
In line with our ambitions to drive forward the utilisation of technology and to provide the highest-quality service levels to our partners, we are building a new operations hub that will seek to improve the efficiency of data collection, preservation, and review. The operations team will support in developing new self-service data collection mechanisms and help to enhance processes that drive efficient processing and review of data in its Relativity eDiscovery platform. The team will further support our Preservation division by working with our global Technology teams to ensure Legal maintains its ability to protect and preserve information that is critical to managing our Investigations and Legal Disputes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Work with the eDiscovery & Data Advisory (eDDA) team to implement a new operations layer that supports both its core data and preservation divisions.
Business
- Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all key business and functional stakeholders that is based on trust, capability, and integrity, providing timely, responsive and quality support to enable the Bank to achieve its strategic objectives.
- Provide timely reporting to eDDA Directors on all aspects of the eDiscovery processes undertaken within the team
Processes
Manage multiple data preservation, data collection and operational tasks projects simultaneously, documenting the processes undertaken with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Building strong partnerships with all internal/external stakeholders that allow end-to-end seamless delivery.
Providing operational support to the eDDA Data Preservation division.
- Execution, tracking and management of confidential preservation tasks, including the issuance of Legal Holds and arranging for the preservation of custodian data from enterprise systems/applications and bank computers.
- Working alongside the eDDA team to identify relevant data repositories and systems and execute preservation tasks as agreed with the eDDA Directors.
- Working with technology stakeholders, to document the preservation capabilities of bank systems and verifying preservation capabilities within their platforms.
Providing operational support to the core eDDA division.
- Execution of confidential data extraction requests for Legal and Investigative matters.
- Working with system owners to extract data from Bank systems, in a timely and documented manner.
- Maintain a record of business owner approvals with SLAs and/or agreements on direct access to Bank systems for data extraction.
- Assist in implementing processes for extracting data from Bank systems and ensure that extracted data is provided in a legible format as per agreed requirements.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve data extraction issues as they arise.
- Play a crucial role in the development of new / enhanced data collection mechanisms.
- Maintain reports and dashboards on data extractions for reporting and audit purposes.
- Identify key pain points of data extraction processes and help create solutions through development of new strategies.
- Support the eDiscovery team with billing / invoice settlement
- Assist our external vendor in the management and maintenance of SCB's Global Relativity infrastructure.
- Technical management of Relativity workspaces (inc. user administration, fields, layout and saved search creation)
- Processing of data into SCB's eDiscovery platform (Relativity), including managing quality control and validating the processing of data. Be responsible for handling common processing exceptions in a consistent and documented manner.
- Act as a 1st level eDiscovery support expert for the eDDA team's key stakeholder base.

Risk Management
- Apply all relevant Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures to manage risks.
- Undertake periodic self-assessment on key controls to assess the proper functioning and adequacy of existing controls.
Governance
- Act to minimise operational loss, audit failures, and take proactive measures to respond to matters arising.
- In the event of serious regulatory breaches, or where risk tolerances have been breached, ensure senior management are informed and that actions are taken quickly to remediate and/or activities are ceased

Skills And Experience
- Experience across the whole Electronic Data Reference Model (EDRM) including a strong understanding of eDiscovery concepts and the adoption and utilisation of technology.
- Proficiency with desktop computing applications (MS Windows, MS Excel, SQL, databases, and data loading tools.
- Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills - both written and verbal, including a demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts to a wider audience.
- Proficiency in using one or more scripting/programming languages to automate tasks (Python, PowerShell, Visual Basic, REST APIs)
- Business data analysis
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Education - Graduate or Post-Graduate from a technology or legal degree.
- Training
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in an eDiscovery Operations and/or Digital Forensics role.
- Experience of working with Legal/Enterprise Technologies is advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience in being able to work independently and collaborate with team members globally.
- Certifications
- RelativityOne Certified Pro - Must have sufficient skills to pass or have already passed.
- Relativity Processing Specialist - Must have sufficient skills to pass or have already passed.
- Relativity Certified Administrator - Desirable
- Relativity Data Management Specialist - Desirable
- Languages - English - Fluent
