What will you do
- Negotiation and Contract Drafting: The legal counsel adeptly negotiates, reviews, and drafts agreements concerning content production, acquisition, and licensing, ensuring clarity and adherence to legal standards
- Due Diligence and Rights Management: Diligently conducts due diligence and rights checks prior to content acquisition, maintaining and updating rights management databases and checklists to safeguard against legal risks
- Advisory and Guidance: Provides informed counsel to officers and senior management on contractual rights and obligations, intellectual property rights, content regulation, and strategies for dispute resolution
- Legal Support in Business Transactions: Offers comprehensive legal guidance to the commercial team on various legal aspects of business and commercial transactions, including rights delineated in diverse agreements
- Collaboration with External Legal Partners: Works collaboratively and coordinates effectively with external advocates and counsels of the company, ensuring alignment with legal strategies and objectives
Who should apply for this role
- Experience and Qualifications: 7-9 years post-qualification experience (PQE), with a minimum of 2-4 years served as an in-house lawyer within a corporate setting. Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating agreements is essential for this role
- Skills and Expertise: Strong drafting and negotiating skills, coupled with proficiency in commercial deal-making. Demonstrated advocacy skills and a comprehensive understanding of Copyright laws
- Personal Attributes: Demonstrates enthusiasm and a proactive approach to legal challenges. Exhibits excellent organizational skills and ethical conduct. Displays a strong work ethic and thrives in a collaborative team environment
