Overview
The Manager of Accounts and Compliance in the Real Estate sector is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and safeguarding the organization's adherence to legal and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the accounting and finance functions.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets for the organization
- Coordinate and oversee external audits and tax filings.
- Monitor and analyze financial data, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and provide guidance on complex accounting matters.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address compliance issues and inquiries.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and internal control evaluations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial systems and processes.
- Assist in due diligence processes for real estate transactions.
- Support the finance and compliance strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Stay updated with evolving accounting standards and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Commerce (M.Com), Business Administration (MBA), or equivalent.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) Inter qualification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in accounting and compliance, preferably in the real estate industry.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting and audit processes.
- Strong understanding of tax laws and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and ensuring financial integrity.
