Overview

The Manager of Accounts and Compliance in the Real Estate sector is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and safeguarding the organization's adherence to legal and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the accounting and finance functions.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets for the organization
  • Coordinate and oversee external audits and tax filings.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and provide guidance on complex accounting matters.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address compliance issues and inquiries.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and internal control evaluations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of financial systems and processes.
  • Assist in due diligence processes for real estate transactions.
  • Support the finance and compliance strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Stay updated with evolving accounting standards and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Commerce (M.Com), Business Administration (MBA), or equivalent.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) Inter qualification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in accounting and compliance, preferably in the real estate industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting and audit processes.
  • Strong understanding of tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and ensuring financial integrity.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Adaptability to changing regulatory environments and business needs.
