Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader to oversee a dynamic team of 5 engineers responsible for 3D LiDAR point cloud data processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python and shell scripting, and extensive experience in managing data import, export, and validation workflows. This role requires the ability to collaborate with various project teams, understand their requirements, and ensure the accurate and timely processing of client-provided data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of about 5 engineers working on 3D LiDAR point cloud data processing.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand their data processing requirements.
- Oversee the development and execution of pre-processing and post-processing scripts, mainly in Python and shell scripting, to handle client-provided data.
- Ensure the validation of processed data through automated scripts and quality checks.
- Manage the data import, export, and specification clarification processes to meet client needs.
- Drive accountability and performance within the team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality data solutions.
- Stay updated on industry best practices for data processing and validation, incorporating them into team workflows.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
- Manage operations efficiently and meet committed SLAs
Requirements:
- Experience in Python and shell scripting, with a focus on data processing.
- Strong leadership skills with prior experience managing teams of 5 or more engineers.
- Experience working with 3D LiDAR point cloud data is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage data workflows, including import/export, validation, and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of LiDAR data formats and associated tools.
