The MIS Specialist is responsible for managing, designing, and optimizing the Management Information Systems (MIS) within the organization. This role supports data-driven decision-making processes by ensuring the accurate collection, storage, and analysis of data. The MIS Specialist collaborates with various departments to develop and implement effective data management solutions and maintains the integrity and security of organizational data.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management and Analysis
- Collect, process, and analyze data from various sources to support organizational decision-making.
- Develop and maintain databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- System Development and Maintenance
- Design, implement, and maintain MIS infrastructure to meet the organization's data management needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to MIS software and hardware.
- Training and Support
- Develop user manuals and training materials.
- Assist staff in understanding and utilizing data for program planning and evaluation.
- Data Security and Compliance
- Implement and monitor data security protocols to protect sensitive information.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and security.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with program managers, field staff, and other departments to understand their data needs.
- Communicate data findings and insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Preferably Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or any graduation
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in MIS, data management, or a related role, preferably in a non-profit organization.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau), and MIS software.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data management and reporting.
