Company Background:
Our client is a public listed manufacturing company, supplying to various industries in APAC region. Currently, they are looking for a Maintenance Staff Engineer / Junior Manager to be based in Melaka plant.
Job Purpose:
You will assist the maintenance head of department in overseeing all aspects of maintenance, repair, and upkeep to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of both electrical and mechanical engineering principles to ensure the efficient functioning of equipment and machinery.
Additionally, you will be tasked with managing a team of maintenance personnel, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and adhering to safety regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of electrical and mechanical technicians, providing guidance and support.
- Assist HOD in budget management including expenses, labor, materials and external services. Report on budget performance and variance analysis.
- Task segregation and regular performance evaluations, to ensure optimal utilization of skills and resources and distribution of workload.
- Responsible for maintenance planning and scheduling - maintenance and repair of electrical systems, diagnose of electrical faults and malfunction, including power distribution, control panels, and wiring, to ensure minimum equipment downtime and optimum performance.
- Manage the maintenance and upkeep of mechanical equipment and machineries. Routine inspections, lubrication and calibration activities to identify mechanical issues and enhance equipment reliability.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history for analysis and planning.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address recurring problems and improve equipment reliability.
- Responsible for inventory management of spare parts, tools and supplies for maintenance activities. Monitor inventory usage and cost saving measures where possible.
- Identify training needs and development for maintenance personnel to keep abreast of advancement in technology and techniques.
- Foster open communication channels within the team and with other departments.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in maintenance management (especially in both electrical and mechanical system) in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Preferably those with experience in extrusion/tapping/stranding /cabling/plastic injection/steel making machines.
- Proficiency in maintenance planning and scheduling software.
- Understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Good leadership and team management skills.
- Candidate with Chargeman BO 11KV certification shall be an added advantage.
- Ability to communicate in English, Bahasa and Chinese languages.
- Willing to work in Alor Gajah, Melaka.
