Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

The Solar Service & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role requires a deep understanding of solar power systems, electrical components, and safety protocols. The engineer will be tasked with performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that the systems operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Installation and Commissioning:

Install solar PV systems, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other related equipment.

Commission new installations to ensure they are fully operational and meet the required standards.

2) Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Conduct regular preventive maintenance on solar PV systems to ensure optimal performance.

Diagnose and repair faults in solar power systems, including wiring issues, inverter problems, and other electrical faults.

Monitor system performance and identify any deviations or inefficiencies.

Perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs as needed.

3) Inspections and Testing:

Carry out routine inspections of solar installations to identify any potential issues or hazards.

Perform electrical testing of systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

4) Customer Support:

Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding the operation and maintenance of their solar systems.

Respond promptly to customer service requests and resolve any issues efficiently.

5) Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work conducted.

Prepare and submit reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.

6) Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks.

Ensure that all work is conducted in a safe and professional manner, minimizing risks to personnel and equipment.

7) Training and Development:

Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in solar power maintenance.

Participate in training sessions and certifications as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.

Experience:

2-5 years of experience in solar PV installation, maintenance, or a related field.

Experience with various types of solar power systems and inverters.

Skills:

Strong understanding of electrical systems and components.

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.

Familiarity with solar PV system design and installation.

Ability to use testing and diagnostic tools effectively.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Certifications (Preferred):

Certified Solar PV Installer

OSHA or other safety certifications

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.

Must be able to lift and carry equipment as required.
