Mainframe VTAM, SNA, CICS Engineer

We are searching for new colleagues for full-time positions as Mainframe Network Engineer with experience in supporting mainframe network communications environment including SNA, VTAM, TCP/IP, FTP, zOS Communication Server Components, Printing Services, and TN3270 Session Manager in 3-site, Parallel Sysplex environment.

Role Description

As a Mainframe Network Engineer, you will be responsible for network administration, network engineering, troubleshooting, network security, and network design. You will work closely with our team of software engineers to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our clients mainframe network systems. This role requires expertise in mainframe networking technologies and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Project support of SNA/VTAM and TCP/IP configuration.
• Administration of TN3270 configuration, including 3rd party tools (MacKinney VTAM/Switch, CA-TPX).
• Administration of 3rd party printing suite (MacKinney JesQ, Vtam For Printers) for clients and vendors, including use of transformers.
• Administration of IBM Connect:Direct configuration / netmap.
• AT-TLS/Policy agent/TLS certificate administration.
• Configuration and use of Netview as tool to manage mainframe network.
• Develop, document and implement network standards, policies, procedures and security practices in accordance with business policies.
• Participate in routine Business Continuity Plan / Disaster & Recovery drills.
• Work with z/OS Software, Hardware, Middleware, and development teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years managing mainframe network environments.
• Mainframe Networking Administration, Network Engineering, and Network Troubleshooting skills
• Experience with IBM Communication Server product suite, including VTAM and TCP/IP internals, SNA formats and protocols (APPN, Cross-Domain Resources etc).
• Implementation, configuration and support of mainframe TCP/IP and supporting services (SNTP, FTP, OMPROUTE, SNMP, etc.).
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve system and network related problems, understanding and support of enterprise encryption applications and processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
