• Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe System Admin with expertise in SMP/E (System Modification Program/Extended) to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in managing and maintaining mainframe environments, with a strong focus on SMP/E, system installation, and maintenance activities.

• Key Responsibilities:

Perform system maintenance, including installation and upgrades using SMP/E.

• Manage and administer mainframe environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.

• Perform system tuning, capacity planning, and performance monitoring.

Ensure system security and compliance with corporate policies and standards.

• Provide technical support and guidance to junior system administrators and other IT staff.

Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and operations.

• Participate in on-call rotations to support critical system operations.

• Required Skills and Experience:

7+ years of experience in Mainframe System Administration.

• Extensive experience with SMP/E, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of mainframe software.

Strong knowledge of z/OS, JES2/JES3, RACF, VTAM, TCP/IP, and other mainframe components.

• Experience in system performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning.

Familiarity with mainframe security protocols and best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages is a plus.

• Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
