Skillset -Mainframe Storage Engineer
As a Mainframe Storage Engineer on the zSeries Mainframe , need to be technical authority in the area.
This is a hands-on role where the resource need configure and maintain products and services according to Group standards and policies, plus assist with the delivery of projects within z/Storage environments - this includes out of hours.
Job Description
- Support and implement changes to the Z Storage estate within LBG as required.
- Resolution of incidents and problems across the LBG estate in line with LBG KPI's.
- Assist the z/Storage team in war room/conference calls with incident management and technical teams in order to restore service.
- Provide 24x7 support and provide support for projects and team workload as required.
- Work effectively with the wider z/Storage tower in order to run the smooth transition of projects into live service.
- Provide consultancy skills to Application teams as required.
- Experience in a similar role providing Mainframe Storage Support. Happy to consider people with just a few years experience but need some background in this domain.
- Expertise in Z Mainframe Storage Software): i.e DFSMS DFHSM DFRMM and related utilities.
- Expertise in Job Control Language (JCL)
- Knowledge of IBM Storage Hardware - i.e DS8000 Disk, VTS, ATL, SAN
- Experience handling incidents & problem solving, plus handling change requests.
- Experience with managing ICF Catalogs
Optional: Experience of storage performance & capacity management.
Optional: Experience of Dell Storage Hardware
