The Application Managed Services Consultant will provide consultative operational services including technical post-implementation/go-live services for enterprise software solutions throughout for BMC s worldwide customers. The Consultant must be able to multi task in a fast-paced environment since they will be working on incidents, problems, releases, patching, upgrades, integrations simultaneously .
Key Job Responsibilities/Duties
- Responsible for leading and/or participating in teams comprised of BMC, partner, and customer resources at client sites to deliver required outcomes and produce additional business with BMC clients.
- Provide L2/L3 operational support on Control-M for Mainframe as per agreed SLAs.
- Migrate, customize, and configure Batch Jobs from other products to BMC Control-m For mainframe.
- Maintain Control-M Application platform availability as per agreed availability commitment.
- Integrate BMC products to each other and third-party applications.
- Troubleshoot Control-M application, customizations, integration issues.
- Follow the ITIL standard best processes.
- Recommend plan upgrades/patches and roll out of new features.
- Understands how to apply technology to improve the operational effectiveness or efficiency of specific functions or applications.
- Assist customer drive adoption of the monitoring solution across the environments.
- Work closely with Service Owners to review service delivery quality with focus on continuous improvement.

Skills/Experience: Control-M for Mainframe
- Experience working in mainframe environments as System Engineer or Production control and supporting Workload Automation and Output Management tools/Implementations
- Should have working knowledge of Control-M for z/OS like creating and managing Job Scheduling Definitions, specify scheduling parameters, conditions, and resources, able to use calendars for scheduling of jobs, use of SMART Tables.
- Should be familiar with Active Environment and its screen commands which are used to, confirm job orders, Review the status of jobs, Check job logs, hold jobs in the active environment, Delete and kill a job order etc.
- Should know how to use the Control-M Workload Automation interface to manage z/OS jobs.
- Should know about the Control-M Admin role to install and configure Control-M for z/OS.
- Should have good Professional exposure to MVS, JES2, TSO, SDSF, ISPF (commands, functions, EDIT, DSLIST, Dataset Library Utilities), JCL knowledge, Batch ABEND resolution process.
- Should have experience of IBM utilities such as: IEBGENER, IDCAMS, IECOPY, IEBCOMPR IEHLIST, IEFBR14, IEBUPDATE, SORT/MERGE utilities.
- Experience with Control-M Job Scheduling (Calendars, Cyclic Jobs)
- Experience in Control-M Administration, High Availability, Failover/Failback, DR, Control-M modules
