Role purpose

To oversee a small but vital team working on an advanced AI tool. This tool specializes in converting COBOL code to Java, facilitating the modernization of legacy systems. As a Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the development and optimization of this conversion process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and seamless integration with modern Java frameworks.

Job description

- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and establish milestones and timelines.

- Architect scalable and efficient solutions that meet both technical and business requirements.

- Mentor and coach team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.

- Conduct regular code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions to optimize the conversion process.

- Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and advancements in AI and software development.

**Requirements:**

- Proven experience (X years) in software development with expertise in both COBOL and Java programming languages.

- Previous experience in a technical leadership role, guiding teams in software development projects.

- Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, and their application in software development.

- Familiarity with mainframe systems, legacy codebases, and their transformation into modern architectures.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.

knowledge of Mainframe Modernization (Any approach Rehosting/Replat forming/Refactoring )

Knowledge of Any kind of server installation

Knowledge of integration of various tools (Integrate tools in ZOS environment or various other tools integration with each other)

Knowledge of any scripting language (Python/ Shell script)

Basic knowledge of Java

Ability to research new things related to Mainframe modernization

Hands on of POC/POT
