What will your job look like:
- Capacity Planning & Optimization Expert Mainframe Server.
- Overall governance of whole Mainframe IT Operations.
- Cost mapping of Mainframe apps for modernization to Cloud.
- Knowledge on Install, configure, and maintain mainframe operating systems and related software.
- Monitor system performance and implement necessary adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
- Ownership of system upgrades and apply patches to maintain system security and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues and provide technical support to users.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate mainframe systems with other enterprise systems.
- Ensure data integrity and security by implementing and maintaining backup and recovery procedures.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements.
All you need is:
- Proven experience as a Mainframe System Capacity Planning & System Programmer or similar role.
- Strong Knowledge of running and understanding SCRT Reports.
- Strong Knowledge of pulling consumption report of ISVs especially Broadcom, planning and POC to replace and retire.
- Experience with system management Tools like TADz, SMF, RMF data.
- Strong knowledge on RACF and system commands.
- Understanding of DASD, TAPE management, have knowledge of DCOLLECT utilities, etc
- Experience with installing, patching 3rd Party Software (CA, BMC, IBM).
- Strong knowledge of mainframe operating systems (e.g., z/OS, OS/390).
- Experience with mainframe utilities and tools (e.g., JCL, TSO, ISPF).
- Experience with CICS System Administration.
- Experience with DR setup and recovery of MF system.
- Maintaining huge enterprise Mainframe System having SYSPLEX setup.
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., DB2, IMS).
- Advantage to have Experience with AS400 as system programmer.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mainframe security and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of mainframe networking and storage technologies.
- Certification in mainframe technologies (e.g., IBM Certified System Programmer).
