Magnetic Motor Design Engineer (Electrical Engineer)

Scope of Role:

Design and development of motors based on individual customer requirements for elevator application

Key Responsibilities

Analyze product requirements communicated by Sales and develop optimal solutions to meet customer demands from the system within the pre-determined time frame

Work closely with the Sales department and Customer representative(s) to tailor the solution post securing the order and secure customer acceptance

Develop the final design and technical specifications of the Solution along with implementation guidelines, timeframe for project completion and communicate to the Operations department

Incorporate design changes, if any, demanded by the customer within the predefined time frame and secure customer approval for the changes

Communicate the latest design change formats to all stakeholders i.e. Operations, Sales and Marketing, Quality etc. to ensure that all change requests are generated in the SAP System and follow the mandatory formats. Document, establish & circulate implemented process.

Develop assembly / manufacturing instructions based on the finalized specifications and communicate to Operations

Perform the testing of the machines in Lab

Support the Procurement team by providing inputs on the quality and performance requirements from raw materials, components and outsourced parts

Work towards reducing design lead time and improving quality of design through: Adoption of the most effective design practices, greater standardization in design, development of generic BOM with sublevels and varieties predefined, cleansing existing MRP data, Item description standardization, use of modern and effective design software etc.

Ensure adoption of the SAP Drawing Management System and storage of all designs generated on the System

Manage all technical documents - catalogues, technical literature etc. - control access to documents, regulate updating of access privileges and ensure secure storage

Analyze field break down & take corrective steps to reduce/ eliminate them.

• Design & install new test facilities on shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical degree
• CAD experience
• Proficient in Solidworks
• Strong organizational and communication skills
