Role And Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled Looker Specialist with strong expertise in Looker and Python to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Looker dashboards, conducting data analysis, and creating automated data workflows. This role requires a deep understanding of data modeling, data visualization, and scripting to deliver comprehensive business intelligence solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Looker Dashboards:
- Design, develop, and optimize Looker dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across all Looker outputs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Looker solutions.
- Data Modeling and ETL Processes:
- Develop and maintain robust data models within Looker.
- Design and implement ETL processes to integrate and transform data from various sources.
- Ensure the scalability and performance of data models.
- Python Scripting and Automation:
- Utilize Python to create automated data workflows and scripts.
- Develop custom Python scripts to extend Looker functionality and integrate with other tools and platforms.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing Python scripts for performance and reliability.
- Data Analysis and Insights:
- Conduct thorough data analysis to support business decision-making.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data sets.
- Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and other team members to ensure data integrity and alignment with business goals.
- Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the value of Looker solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Continuous Improvement and Best Practices:
- Stay updated with the latest features and updates of Looker and related technologies.
- Implement and advocate for best practices in data visualization, data modeling, and scripting.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and solutions through automation and innovation.
Skills And Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong experience with Looker, including LookML, dashboard development, and data visualization.
- Proficiency in Python for data scripting, automation, and integration.
- Experience with SQL and data modeling.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and business requirements.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with additional data visualization tools and platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift).
- Knowledge of other programming languages and data processing frameworks.
