Job Title: US Mortgage and Live Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced US Mortgage and Live Underwriter to join our remote team. As an integral part of our underwriting department, you will be responsible for evaluating and approving/denying mortgage loan applications in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and investor guidelines. This role requires a deep understanding of mortgage underwriting principles, risk assessment, and exceptional analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze mortgage loan applications to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company and regulatory standards.
• Assess borrower's creditworthiness by evaluating income, assets, liabilities, and overall financial profile.
• Utilize automated underwriting systems (AUS) and manual underwriting techniques to determine loan eligibility.
• Communicate effectively with loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and expedite the underwriting process.
• Provide timely and clear underwriting decisions while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in mortgage underwriting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 4-8 years of experience as a Mortgage Underwriter in the US mortgage industry.
• In-depth knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA, and conventional loan programs.
• Strong familiarity with DU/LP and other automated underwriting systems.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a remote work environment, demonstrating self-motivation and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
