What you ll do
Define Linux & Virtualization Engineering Best Practices, Well versed with all the flavors of RHEL, Rocky Linux, & Centos.
You will be responsible for Future Opensource Linux build so you should have strong knowledge of building Linux via image-based distribution & automated VM Build. Both for legacy (bare metal) and cloud-like (imaged-based) environments.
You will Review the Infrastructure automation codes for build Infrastructure , Candidates should possess Strong Knowledge of Jenkins, CICD Pipelines, & Puppet/Ansible. Also, Gilab and GitOps operational frameworks.
Review all FW Codes , prepare roadmap for Nutanix Infrastructure. In depth Knowledge of HCI Virtualization technologies, Nutanix preferred.
In-depth knowledge of software-defined storage and protocols - NFS and iSCSI.
Understanding of Backup and Archive technologies. Cohesity preferred.
Strong capacity management skills for our On-Prem infrastructure and build relationships with stakeholder teams to understand needs and generate forecasts.
In depth Performance management, troubleshooting analysis should be in his/her core strengths. It s your issue v/s Let s analyze and resolve attitude needed.
Should be able to mentor team members and key person to resolve all P1 Issues.
VM lifecycle Management (creation, deletion, cloning, snapshot etc.)
Collaborate with vendor support teams for advanced troubleshooting Plan.
Implement and execute DR drills. Knowledge of live-live infrastructure.
Leverage Nutanix products and features to automate administrative tasks Guide and train the Team on Nutanix Administration.
What you will need for the role
Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
15+ years of experience across Linux, Virtualization & Automation.
Expertise in at least one scripting language, Python preferred.
Expert in Hyperconverged systems, Nutanix and Cohesity preferred.
Experience in IAC tooling including Git, Terraform, Docker, and Vault.
In-depth understanding of security practices, system hardening, and encryption technologies.
Must understand a physical DC and how physical HW is racked / configured. Confident working with remote DC team.
Outstanding communication skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong, self-motivated, and proactive team player with ability to adjust to shifting priorities and time management skills.
Strong knowledge of network protocols and principles, including multicast, TCP/IP, iSCSI, DHCP, NTP, PTP and DNS.
