Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Linux OSS/TP Engineer to join our Pune team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, supporting, and troubleshooting our Linux-based OSS (Open Source Software) and TP (Third-Party) applications within the VMware environment. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and customer-facing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and Maintain: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based OSS and TP applications.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Linux systems and applications, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize system performance and ensure the scalability and reliability of the applications.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and VMware policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Development, Operations, and Support, to deliver seamless service.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in managing Linux-based environments and OSS/TP applications.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration (preferably Red Hat, CentOS, or Ubuntu).
- Strong knowledge of OSS/TP applications and their integration with VMware environments.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP, SSH, FTP).
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, VCP, LFCS) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Virtualization Knowledge: Experience with VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere, ESXi).
- Cloud Experience: Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
