Librarian

Description

We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's resources, providing assistance to patrons, and ensuring the library operates efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement library policies and procedures
• Manage library inventory and ensure resources are available to patrons
• Provide reference assistance to patrons, including research support and reader's advisory
• Catalog and classify library materials using accepted standards
• Manage library budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility
• Supervise library staff and volunteers
• Promote library services and resources to the community
• Stay current with library trends and innovations
• Collaborate with other librarians and library organizations to improve services

Skills and Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science or related field
• 3-13 years of experience working in a library
• Strong knowledge of library cataloging and classification systems
• Familiarity with library management software and other technology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and adaptability in a changing work environment
• Customer service orientation
• Supervisory experience preferred
