Position Summary:
The role pertains to the Maintaining of Regulatory Compliances and Advice on the same, apart from the
assisting in the legal support for developing and maintaining of renewable energy projects (solar/wind/Hydrogen) spread across of the Country. Role inter alia involves the following key responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Understand the applicable central/state regulations/acts pertaining to Renewable Energy and power sector including Electricity Act, CERC, CEA, CTU, ISTS, SERC, MOP and MNRE etc.
- Providing regulatory guidelines/guidance to the organization for business development and statutory compliances for each project.
- Develop internal policies and regulatory strategy/framework for the Company.
- Keep abreast of changes in regulatory framework and policies
- Brief the management to understand concerns over existing/proposed policies/acts and the need for revisions
- Drafting and negotiating contracts as per the needs of the business and the company
- Co-ordinate and complete the Due-Diligence (DD)/Title Search Reports (TSR) requirements
- Assist in documentation, petitions, and replies with the regulatory bodies and high courts for expeditious orders
- Coordination with Regulatory bodies, various Ministries, Discoms, Generators and Consultants
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in law with strong academic credentials
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience.
- Strong legal experience in dealing with power sector matters as well as corporate and commercial matters.
- Solid knowledge of power sector regulations, IPPS etc
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
Knowledge:
- Strong fundamentals and understanding of Electricity laws.
- Knowledge of various regulations both at CTU as well as STU
- Experienced in load flow analysis and Grid planning
- Experienced in project activity to plan evacuation at different locations.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Skills:
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral, and written communication skills including extensive presentation/reporting skills.
- Numerate with good commercial acumen and technical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including senior management
- Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills.
