The Legal & Liaisoning Officer will be responsible for managing the legal affairs of the company, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and liaising with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders. The role is crucial in safeguarding the company's interests and facilitating smooth operations through effective legal management and liaisoning.
Legal Compliance:
- Ensure the company's operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Monitor changes in legislation and advise management on the impact of such changes on the business.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
Handle legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration matters in coordination with external legal counsel.Liaisoning:
Establish and maintain relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate approvals, licenses, and permits required for construction projects.
Represent the company in meetings with government officials and ensure smooth communication.- Address and resolve issues related to land acquisition, property disputes, and other legal matters with government agencies.
Risk Management:- Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate them.
Conduct due diligence for property transactions and other major business activities.- Advise management on legal risks and strategies to avoid litigation.
Documentation and Record Keeping:- Maintain and organize legal documents, contracts, and records.
Ensure timely renewal of licenses, permits, and other legal documents.- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory authorities as per compliance requirements.
Advisory Role:- Provide legal advice to management and other departments on a wide range of issues.
Assist in the development of company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.- Support HR in handling employment-related legal issues, including labor laws, contracts, and disputes.
Team Collaboration:- Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and other internal departments to ensure legal aspects of operations are covered.
Coordinate with external legal advisors and consultants when necessary.
- Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory. A Master's degree in Law (LLM) is preferred.Experience:
5-7 years of experience in legal and liaisoning roles, preferably within the construction or real estate industry.Skills:- Strong knowledge of construction law, property law, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
Familiarity with local, state, and national regulations related to construction and real estate.
Attention to Detail Strategic Thinking
Relationship Building Willingness to travel as required.- Ability to work flexible hours based on project requirements.
