Job Description

Job Description:

As the Legal Associate at Sigmoid, you will be responsible for managing contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and supporting various legal matters within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including service agreements, NDAs, vendor agreements, and client contracts.
  • Maintain and manage the contract database, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and templates.

Compliance Management:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to the IT service industry.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Legal Support:

  • Provide legal support on a variety of matters, including intellectual property, data privacy, and employment law.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant legal developments affecting the company.
  • Assist in managing legal disputes, including litigation support and coordination with external counsel.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Prepare and maintain legal documents, records, and reports.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all legal matters.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with various departments, including HR, finance, and operations, to provide legal guidance and support.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Degree from an accredited law school
  • Minimum 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate law, preferably in the technology or IT services industry
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements and regulations applicable to the IT service industry.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
