Job Description:
As the Legal Associate at Sigmoid, you will be responsible for managing contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and supporting various legal matters within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including service agreements, NDAs, vendor agreements, and client contracts.
- Maintain and manage the contract database, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and accessible.
- Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and templates.
Compliance Management:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to the IT service industry.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Legal Support:
- Provide legal support on a variety of matters, including intellectual property, data privacy, and employment law.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant legal developments affecting the company.
- Assist in managing legal disputes, including litigation support and coordination with external counsel.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Prepare and maintain legal documents, records, and reports.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all legal matters.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with various departments, including HR, finance, and operations, to provide legal guidance and support.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree from an accredited law school
- Minimum 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate law, preferably in the technology or IT services industry
- Strong knowledge of contract law and experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements and regulations applicable to the IT service industry.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
